Day 1: Windhoek to Damaraland
(460km)(Damaraland Huab Mobile Camp)

All travellers will be collected from their accommodation between 07h30 and 08h00 am in Windhoek. Our journey will take us through several small towns and lunch will be enjoyed while on the road. We will be staying for 3 nights next to the Huab river which is frequented by different small herds of desert elephant. Our plan is to arrive in the early afternoon so that we have time to explore the surrounding area and enjoy a sunset drive.

The Huab River Valley in northwest Namibia is renowned for its spectacular panoramic vistas featuring pristine wilderness defined by stark plains, ancient valleys and the distant peaks of the Brandberg Mountains.

The luxury mobile camp is designed to be set up quickly in some of the most inaccessible areas of the country. It is serviced and equipped to ensure that guests can stay in considerable comfort and to be allowed to relax and revel in the feeling of space and solitude that makes Namibia so special. Delicious, wholesome meals are prepared on open fires using fresh, local produce and guests are cared for by a caring, warm tribe who absolutely love what they do.

Activity: Afternoon sunset drive

Included: Lunch, Dinner; Mineral water, local wines and beer

Day 2: Torra Conservancy & Black Rhino
(Damaraland Huab Mobile Camp)

This morning, after breakfast, we will drive up the river bed to the Bersig area where we will meet our local rhino tracker. Trackers here patrol and protect one of Africa's largest free-ranging populations of critically endangered desert-adapted black rhino. We will track them on foot and by vehicle. Tracking with these dedicated conservationists is a unique and exclusive wilderness experience. If time allows, we will enjoy a game drive in the afternoon.

Activities: Morning: Rhino tracking; Afternoon: Nature drive

Included: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner; Mineral water, local wines & beers; Activities

Day 3: Twyfelfontein & Desert Elephants
(Damaraland Huab Mobile Camp)

Today we will visit Twyfelfontein, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. A short hike will allow us to view the ancient San hunter gatherer rock engravings and paintings which prevail here. They are estimated to be up to 6000 years old. The area boasts one of the largest concentrations of petroglyphs in Africa and forms a high-quality record of ritual practices in the area over at least 2000 years.
Afterwards, we will meet the local Damara people at the Damara Living Museum. Here you can observe and experience the traditional Damara way of life in their traditional homesteads. After lunch we will search again for desert elephants as we make our way back to the camp.

Activities: Twyfelfontein rock engravings & paintings, Damara Living Museum, Desert Elephants

Included: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner; Mineral water, local wines & beers; Activities
